None of the EU member states supports the Papua separatist movement, but they support the implementation of special autonomy for the province aimed at improving the welfare of Papuans, says a former diplomat. During a discussion on the issue with reporters on Tuesday, former Indonesian ambassador to Belgium and the EU Nadjib Kesoema also denied claims from the International Law for West Papua (ILWP) and the International Parliament of West Papua (IPWP) that EU countries supported the Free Papua Movement (OPM) struggle.

Papua Peace Forum reject MRP Decree

Papua Peace Forum reject  Papua People's Assembly Decree Number 14 Year 2009 about the prospective candidate must be regional leader in Papua province of the local indigenous people.

"A decree can not block the legislation in force. So, we rejected that decision," said a spokesman for the Papua Peace Forum Simop P Ayomi, in Jayapura, Papua, on Thursday. He said the MRP is a cultural representation of native Papuans who have the specific authority in order to protect the rights of the original of this province that is based on respect for tradition and culture, women empowerment, and strengthening the harmony of religious life.

Surya MajapahitHistory of Jayapura In the book of Nagara-Kertagama writen by Rakawi Prapanca of Majapahit, under the rule of King Hayam Wuruk, in 1365 A.D,  it was mentioned that West Papua was belong to Majapahit Kingdom territory. In one of its paragraphs mentioned “Muwah tikhan i wandan, ambwan (Ambon) athawa maloko wwanin (Fakfak)” were the sovereign territory of Majapahit Kingdom.
